Often times Dr. Pete & T are asked about supplements. Until recently we have been reluctant to say much about supplements until we had the opportunity to test them on ourselves first. Generally, when we buy a supplement we finger stick to test glucose, ketones, and uric acid before and after taking the supplement. This way we can monitor whether or not the supplement does what it says it will do and there are no glucose spikes because of the ingredients that they pack in the pill. In the case of the meters listed below they work great and are accurate. In the case of vitamin D, Dr. Pete monitors his vitamin D via blood work. Keep in mind that just because these supplements and meters work for us that doesn’t mean that they will work for you. Buy them and try them. Testing rules the day.
